Starting Out:

The images Lori has captured over the past twenty years have been done so with the highest regard for quality. Originally, using only professional grade slide film, Lori’s images have been scanned with a high resolution film scanner. Now that she’s upgraded to digital photography, her images are captured directly with a high resolution, professional digital SLR camera.

The Photograph:

Frustrated & dissatisfied having other labs print her work, she established a complete digital darkroom and began creating her own custom Giclée printed photographs. “Giclée” is a French term meaning sprayed ink. In reality, it’s a professional and archival inkjet printing process. The difference between this process and typical inkjet printers is the quality of the printer and materials that are used. The combination of paper and ink she has chosen will ensure the beauty, color & contrast of the art print for generations to come, outlasting traditional darkroom prints. The professional paper used to create her custom Giclée prints is a lustre finish, not nearly as shiny as glossy papers, yet offers more texture & contrast than matte papers. It has similar texture and contrast that typical darkroom papers would have. Since this paper doesn't show finger prints, it's also the paper she chooses for her custom line of photo note cards.

Matted Photographs:

Lori's art prints are available either matted, or matted & framed. While most photographers use only acid free mats, Lori takes quality one step further and uses a 100% Rag mat board , which is not only acid free but archival as well. This ensures the materials that surround your artwork will not fade or omit harmful chemicals which may cause the photograph or inks to fade, run or bleed into the mat. This warm white mat fits into any decor and nicely compliments her images without being distracting. Except for the smallest 5x7 size, all of her prints are double matted, offering extra depth and a more professional & creative presentation than the typical single mat that most photographers use. A stiff backing (acid free mat board or acid free foam board) prevents the matted prints from bending or damage, until they are safe in a frame. The matted photographs are intentionally matted to the next standard size frame, so you or the person who may be receiving the photograph as a gift, can easily purchase their own frame locally at retail, craft or frame shops. Larger photographs are drymounted, permanently adhering them to the foam backing, to prevent waving and curling over time.

All of the materials used in the presentation of this artwork are archival & acid free, including the tapes, hinges on the mat and even the crystal clear bag that protects the photograph. Of course, these materials are more expensive, but Lori takes pride not only in the images that she captures, but also in the quality of the product that she produces and puts her signature on.

Framed Photographs:

Framed photographs are available in a black wood frame. This poplar frame is simple yet professional and fits into any decor, while nicely complimenting Lori's images. Since Lori does all of her own printing, matting and framing she is able to offer custom sizes & panoramic prints as well and at reasonable prices. Photo Note Cards:

These photo note cards are unique, designed to be a handcrafted art purchase in a small package. Each sturdy linen card holds it’s very own custom Giclée photograph set within an inlaid panel, giving it a feeling of depth, like its own little mat. Blank inside, there’s plenty of room for a personalized message or greeting. A matching envelope accompanies every card. Both are enclosed in an archival, clear, resealable plastic bag to protect it from moisture, dirt and fingerprints.

On the back of each card is a caption individual to the image along with the photographer’s contact information and for a finishing touch, the photographer’s signature is located just under the photograph on the front of the card. No mass produced note card can compare to the unique & creative flair that this card presents.
