Description: This wall hanging is lightly quilted; that means the batting sandwiched between the front and back is thin. This is a more modern take on a wall hanging, deliberately fashioned as "primitive," ironically designed to look old-fashioned!
So this lovely piece can't be judged by traditional quilting standards; it's more about the design and the piecing than it is the quilting. And the design and piecing are lovely! Beautiful brown homespun serves as the narrow border, the wide top hanging pocket, and the entire back of the piece. Nine patches of primitive stars are pieced together onto a background plaid or check. The stars themselves are each plaid or homespun.
The overall effect of plaid-on-plaid or check-on-check is stunning. Lillian obviously has an eye for this type of design!
Hanging has one 2 1/2" deep pocket on top for dowel stick to hang. Dowel not included.
