Anonymously Donated at Amish Benefit Auction

Size: King (105" wide x 114" long)
Stitching: Good quality with 6 stitches per inch
Description: What a beautiful quilt! It is well made with good piecing and quilting. The color pallet is so cheerful with bright yellows, lavender, and bright and navy blues. The bargello pattern is obviously an intricately pieced pattern, and that of course means a great deal of labor.
The Bargello quilt pattern, while relatively modern, is borrowed from needlepoint which dates from either Italy or Hungary and is known as far back as the 1600's. The flame stitch-like pattern became used in afghan knitting in the 1960's and then was adapted for quilt use by cutting wider strips of fabric somewhere thereafter.
This quilt is just a winner. Make it your family heirloom today!
Backing: Beige and white floral pattern- photo available in link above.
